人的醜與惡

人種係有事鍾無艷冇事夏迎春。Like it or not, it seems to have become a general rule. People tend to think about themselves first, which is understandable by all means...this is called human behavior. No one will care for one more than one's self.

You can be good to someone, but in return, this person might stab you in the back. Feelings and degree of care are never reciprocal from one to another person. All sorts of betrayal exist.

見死不救 is worst.
Hit and run outrage...lost of morality. That poor innocent 2 year old toddler.

See? Who can live up to the promesse of forever and eternity? When trouble comes...your closest one may not even know what happened or leave you there and flee.

我肯定自己唔係以德報怨果種人,不過如果你敬我一尺我會敬番你一象絕對唔會恩將仇報。

Have confident on people, but keep a limit...rely on yourself instead. There is no one more trust worthy than your own self. Take care of your dearest and closest one...yourself.

Sweet Notes?

No lah! No lah~! Sweet notes are never for me (same theory with me never winning the big prize). Starting to think that I don't have this kind of luck.

Once in a while, I get post-its on my bedside, on the living room's coffee table, on my coat, on my bag and on my computer. I'm more than happy to receive memos...it proves that someone at some time thought about me.

Is it always that c-weet c-weet? Uh-oh! Negative. A high percentage of the time is tell me to do this and do that.
    - Order stuffs on the internet.
    - Go to the bank.
    - Do the laundry.
    - etc.

Don't I do enough at work, already? I'd like to have some time off too. Or, at least, increase the number of real pleasant and lovely memos. I want to feel loved and important!!!

Panic Attack

At first, I was so happy to obtain a job in a hospital, because I can finally have a 妙手仁心 feel. BUT (always a 'but' when I start a sentence like this, right?), I'm not sure anymore.

    - Yes, I got some compliments saying I'm a fast learner, but it's not too convenient to make observe during 3 days, truly learn during 3 and already on my own tonight. *cold sweat* Afterall, there are so much to learn in a hospital. I'm still not too familiar with all the terms.
    - It takes me ~45minutes to get to work.
    - The place is so far from the metro and bus stop that I fear not knowing how to walk in the cold during winter.
    - An unstable schedule is the worst. Apparently, you give your availabilities and they'll call you whenever they need you. Euh...what if they don't? It means I'm jobless. Moreover, I can't stand the fact that I can't know what's going to happen to me in the near future. I want to be able to manage my own schedule = I want a stable job with normal working hours.

See With Your Heart

People are SOOO busy these days that they don't have time for anything.

The other day, I had some quality time with myself...sitting in a coffee shop (yes, Starbucks that is) and look out the window for no particular reason. I zoned out into my own bubble. At that time, a lot of things have passed through my mind. A resume of my life so far was part of the program, but that's not what I wanted to discuss in this post.

If you take a little time to look carefully, you will find out a lot. Human anatomy is the same for everybody no matter which race you are from (have eyes, ears, mouth, and nose), but by people's gestures and micro expressions...you can see their true feelings and sometime figure out what they are going through. It may look if they are only walking on the street, but it's not that simple. Look deeper. There are always people who are happy or sad; fast or slow; alone or with someone; successful or have nothing; thinking or mind clear; etc. You have to put in some effort and dig for your answer. Then, you'll find out that maybe you are not the best and don't own the most, but your life ain't a total waste either. There are reasons why you are here...you earned it.

Another 1st Day/1st Time In My Life

You know? There are many 1st days and 1st times in your life...1st day to school, 1st time dating someone,  1st kiss, 1st trip, 1st time having a kid, etc. (if I continue, this list may go on forever, so lets stop here)

Today, is my 1st day back to work, since...(good for you if you know the story, but don't bother to ask if you don't, because it's a sign that I didn't and still don't want to tell you) Oh! Just a little precision, I'm not saying back to the same job. I managed to find myself something else within a month of 'nothing to do.'

Where am I working now? What am I doing there?

Jeeeez!!! If you could've been patient for a moment, I was going to tell you. The answer is: St-Mary's Hospital Center as an administrative agent.

More specifically, today I was assigned to the surgical floor. But, eventually, I'll have the opportunity to experience other floors and units. For the moment, it is very challenging for someone who didn't study in the field...have to learn to speak their language and adapt myself to the environment.

Note: My post is again on availability/on-call, but I'd definitely like a permanent full-time post. I wish to get a more stable schedule, higher wage and better benefits. *in dilemma* So, is it too early to think of applying in another post or should I wait and see?

Special note: My direct supervisor looks a lot like Sandra Bullock. *_*

Education VS Success

When we were young, our parents use to tell us the importance of education if we want to have a bright future. What do you think? Is this true?

At a certain point, I agree with the idea that everyone should have a minimal degree of education/common sense...otherwise, the society will be in chaos. But, do we necessarily need higher education to earn a better life? I'm not too sure about that. (Seriously! For most people, we don't even use 50% of what we learnt in school.) The best example I can think of, right now...

William Henry (Bill) Gates - former CEO and current chairman of Microsoft
"Bill and a few other students formed the Lakeside Programmers Group, and nearly spent all of their time on the computer writing programs for various purposes. The group was even banned from the computer for a few weeks for hacking into the security program and altering data on the system. Many of the group members ended up working at Microsoft as programmers. Bill later went onto Harvard University, but dropped out in 1974 to form Microsoft with Paul Allen, who had been a friend of Bill Gates since childhood. Bill Gates had known Steve Ballmer at Harvard, and they worked on programs together for the Altair computer."

Steven Paul (Steve) Jobs - former chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios, former member of the board of directors of Walt Disney, and former CEO of Apple Inc.
"Jobs graduated from Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, in 1972. While in high school, Jobs spent his free time attending various after-school lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company, where he also worked with Steve Wozniak as a summer employee.
After high school, Jobs attended Reed College for one semester but then dropped out. In 1974, he started going to Homebrew Computer Club meetings with Wozniak and began working for Atari. He saved his money and then traveled to India with a college friend, Daniel Kottke. He returned from India and continued working at Atari."

Beside those two geniuses, I'm sure there are others like them out there. Sometimes, what we need is an innovative idea and perhaps to be given a chance to express ourselves. Then, *POUF* we're a person no one will forget.

買咩車同食咩餐?

睇落好似九唔搭八,不過讀完就會清楚哂啦!

There are a lot of ways to go from a destination to another. But, when we talk about buying our own vehicle, most people have dilemma on deciding which kind to purchase...I'm not making myself an exception. *headache*

Vintage car - Might have a good look, but the engine's old. How long can it hold?
Sports car - Super look and engine, but I'm certainly not the sole and right owner.
Convertible car - Too many people would love to have it. The market is too large.
Luxury car - Will never be able to get unless I gain the jackpot.
Family/compact/full-equipped/van - Security guaranteed, but might be boring.
Bicycle - Not evolving and too much effort required.
Motorcycle - Easy going, but security is an issue.
Bus - No stability at all...anyone can get in and out at anytime.
Metro - Never stops at a station for more than a minute.
Train - Same as a metro, but it gives you more colorful views.
Plane - Straight to the point and will take off for another.
Boat/cruise/yacht - Floating on water not really knowing the path.

Up until today, I have walked by myself. I genuinely never thought about getting a car, because I never felt the need to. *pause* But, I start to realize the advantages of a car (just afraid to get the wrong one)...it can serve as your personal space when you need to cry, its there for you whenever you need it to, and it brings to the place (a great one) you want to be (you just need to be the one in control, so don't buy those auto-drive cars). Siiigh!!! Now, I'm afraid to have to walk my whole life...alone. Or, what if my ideal car's sold out as soon as I'm ready? And, NO~ I refuse to take those public transportation. I hate sharing. Yes, I am that selfish...I don't share with others.

After you have chosen your car, it is time to decide in which kind of restaurant you want to have your dinner. Hard decision. Italian? French? German? American? Asian?...etc.

Different types of food are prepared differently. So, make sure you aim for something you like and don't have allergic reaction. As for me, I don't really mind, because I can eat everything...just not fast food of any kind. Well, honestly, I do have a preference for 老火湯 which requires lots of time to boil. Take all necessary time to prepare it and then enjoy every little sip of it...extremely tasty/delicious and full of proteins. Mmmm-Hmmmm.
