Just completed my first week at my new job at the Blue Cross (Alright! Maybe not yet, but certainly in an hour), as you all may already know. It is so far so good. There are just a great deal of information for me to digest. *great headache* I do wonder when will I be able to speak the insurance language fluently...advanced level preferably (meaning that I won't have to constantly refer to my manuals, be uncertain of my answers, and disturb everyone around me with my questions)? Moreover, there are 9 systems (2 of them are in DOS) I have to become familiar with. *literally have smokes coming out of my head*
Luckily, the whole training process' done in a highly organized way/well structured. We follow a schedule, have hand outs, have documents to make references, have access to a computer to practice, etc. People are nice (especially the one sitting next to me, she's increeedibly smart...has lots of knowledge in the medical domain). The mentor/coach/trainor is sort of cute. *drool* and one of the supervisors looks like Sharon Stone. (definitely have my fun treating my eyes with sugar...fortunately my eyes can't suffer from diabetes)
Once again, I suppose that time will serve its duty and make me more comfortable in what I have to manage.
For the moment, I guess I can label/appoint myself as a junior insurance specialist...can't wait till the day I can upgrade myself as THE professional.
Finally downtown.
