Asked her if she can come (to the dragon boat office) and help me fix up their website. Her answer to me was…*clear throat* and I quote "I don’t do things for free." tsk. What’s the whole concept of volunteer then???
Anyway, she ended up coming. BUT. Totally USELESS, because apparently she only knows html and no php. TSK.
When she was asked to call people, she speaks with chopped phrases (like an old tape) and leave rude messages. The funniest part is when I asked her to call RCMP for sponsorship, because I left a message earlier. When someone picked up the phone, she wanted to sound professional and asked "je peux parler avec monsieur Capitaine Morin s’il-vous-plaît?" OMG. *laugh myself out* Can you see that HUGE MISTAKE? No one has Captaine as a first name. It’s a title. So, it’s le Capitaine Morin. Ommomomomommo!!!!
We (another person and I) had a discussion on the delivery date of the tents and fences. Miss V decided to add her own opinions out of nowhere. "C’est tellement logique…fonctionnez par logique. You get the fences first…and when you have your parameter you can set-up your tents in it. Nora, je ne comprend pas pourquoi t’es en tourism management." OMFG. V just slapped me on the face with her words.
Look carefully on what she said. First of all, it’s perimeter, not parameter. Second, the whole parc will be for us to use. Fences are there only for security reasons. Third, at least I’m the one who’s in University and not just finished cegep after 5-6 years of struggling at the age of 23.
After all this, she dared to be all bossy. She read my mails and tried to correct them, by adding mistakes. Anyway, the way she speaks is wrong. I have to say that her vocab is very limited. Why she keeps saying "je suis ‘pétée’." OMG. It’s not even a verb. Je ne sais même pas comment le conjuger. How can a person be ‘pétée’? As far as I know, you can be tired, exhausted (too sophisticated for V), etc.
I also noticed that she has no shame. She thinks everything’s under her control and has her name on it. I just went to the bathroom for less than 5 minutes and when I’m back – didn’t bother to ask, V opened a bottle of water and using my laptop with her disgusting fingers. When I looked at her, she pulls out her tongue like a child.
I really don’t get it. Is there something to be proud of about abortion??? I don’t think so. Then, why V constently talks about her aborted child??? *big question mark*
Email Battle
Jennifer Sakai, my internship "supervisor", wrote me a hardcore mail. Her purpose is to say that she can’t see what I’ve been working on. So, I tsked her back with an email. I mean, how can you know that I’m not working if you’re NEVER here when I’m here?
Her mail goes like this:
Hi Nora,
I have looked at the recent work accomplished. I am not sure what has
been done on your end. I know that you come into work at 8:30am, which
is great. However invoices have not been updated, book keeping has not
been touched. Quotations have not all been completed. Unless you are
calling other companies for the same quotation, I am not seeing as
much progress as I see in Samie.
Work needs to be completed quickly. It should only take 10 min to get
a quote from a company and maximum 5 minutes each person to collect $
$. I see that the volunteers have been calling since I get messages
every day.
If you are updating lists of information, i.e. Press Conference,
Opening Ceremonies - I don’t see it. If you have been updating
volunteer information, I cannot pin point what you have actually
accomplished in the office without the help of Samie.
This job was explained as an autonomous job with guidance from
superiors. You have worked in dragon boat before and know that there
is a lot of things to do in June and July leading up to the Festival.
Team registrations need to be updated and teams contacted to register
their paddlers online. We are working on the problem about uploading
team info on to the site so that you guys can check it. However in the
mean time I expect other work to be done.
Samie explained that there was a list of items she left to be done in
the office, and we only see 2 ok’s from you. Acknowledging that you
called them. This is not sufficient. As well as I expected a lot of
quoatations for me to price compare for the bus, printing, portable
toilets, it seems that you only called the ones I mentioned and no
others.
PNH: Called back today, I wanted a quote for tents. Caravan tents are
the same as EZ-Up tents, they are just a brand. You could have asked
him that and he would have told you. Right now, all I need is extra
tents.
Also I am still missing some application info: Caravan Glacee.
Fontaine Sante: Should be contacted and an answer obtained. If he is
not there, call back until you get an answer. It is not enough to call
them and leave a message.
We are beyond leaving a message. Samie will make a script for the
girls calling Teams, etc. As I am sure that they are not leaving the
right message when they call.
I expect you to be more pro-active. Get things accomplished. Book
keeping should take no more than 1hr for what is in the box to input.
I will be doing periodical check ups to make sure that you are doing
progress. Otherwise I will need to reconsider your hours that you have
done so far and I will contact UQAM, to let them know that this is not
working out. When I asked Samie about the work done, your name did not
come into the conversation for things that are accomplished.
Food Inspector Meeting: You need to prepare for it. I will be there to
observe and add pertinent info to the meeting but either You or Samie
will take care of it. If you have questions, let me know. Now would be
the time to ask Atiba or I any questions. I will not be here on
Monday, I will be working at Apple.

Hi Jennifer,
I know that I have worked for the dragon boat in previous years as a volunteer, but you have to know that I only did phone calls as others sis. I don’t know how the office really function. It is not quite fair to ask me come in the office, and ask me to do this do that without telling me how things need to be done. I know that I have to do things based on last year’s information, but most of the time, I have to wait for Atiba to confirm my work. I’m never sure about what I’m doing, because nobody’s here to tell me. It is like dumping me in the middle of a desert. On the other hand, Samie IS in the field with more experioence than I do.
I do make invoices and update list, but again, I have to wait for Atiba to tell that there are no errors before I can send them out.
Bookeeping for expenses is done. I just still don’t know how to enter incomes.
Quotations, I’m working on it. There are some places I called that I didn’t mention it to you, because the price is much higher than what we already have.
I was also trying to look for sponsors, but for most places we’re already too late. Need to apply before the end of the year. SO, I kept the information in a folder for you to use for next year.
Fontaine Santé, I call them twice a day. What do you want me to do if it’s only a machine.
I think it is normal that you see more work done by Samie. She’s here everyday. If you don’t see that, there’s a problem. Also, if you measure our work based on those checks, well I can tell you that I’ve done more than check I put in. (Samie is the one who goes through the list and asks me if things are done. When I say YES, she’s the one who put the checks. Doesn’t mean she’s the one who did the job)
If I could of have a proper training, I would perform better. Since the first day, I am like on my own. I have to spend time looking for information i need and know how you guys do your stuff. I don’t and can’t know everything from day 1. Quite honestly, there are still things I’m in the cloud, but I’m trying to do my best.
It is not easy to work when those directors come in. Nobody wants to answer their questions and I’m stuck with them. How am I suppose to work when I have to take care of them?
Last thing. Nobody checks my mails, thus I have to spend at least an hour each time I come in the office to answer them. If you take a look in my mail box, you’ll know that I’ve been working.
Anyway, I am not trying to justify my lack/non-existent/invisible/missing progress . I was, am, and will continue to do the best I can.

Shit. This never have had happened to me before. I’ve been sick for a week now. Thank God I’m already feeling better that Monday and Tuesday, I was practically glued to my bed.

Just bought 3 LG phones (Prada, Viewty (SYA’s in On Air), and Secret (LJA’s in Beethoven Virus)). O M G. I LOVE them. They are incredible. The person who dares to say that they are worthless, deserve "une claque dans face".
